A delegation of the British TVET-UK visited Algeria. The agency is in charge of the English language teaching and vocational training. Lady Olga Maitland, Chairman of the Algerian British Business Council accompanied the delegation.

24th to 29th of October 2012/British tour operators in Algeria

imgActu171A delegation of a dozen British tour operators visited Algeria at the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism and Craft. This operation, which is part of a cooperation program launched on 10th of September 2012 by the Ministry of Tourism with the Guild of Travel and Tourism, aims at promoting Algeria with the idea of boosting the tourism in our country in the following months. Besides Algiers, they also went to Tipaza and Timimoun.

18th of October 2012/Reception at the House of Lords for the Algerian delegation


A reception was organised on Lord Risby's initiative at the House of Lords for the Algerian delegation. On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador highlighted the fact that British and Algerian relations are heading into a new phase and Lord Risby spoke about the beginning of a new era. He also informed his audience that he had been appointed by the Prime Minister as the Special Envoy for the economic partnership with Algeria.

17th of October 2012/Business opportunities in the building sector in Algeria

13407975481Representatives of British companies met at the British Expertise's head office, with the Wali of Oran, Mr Abdelmalek Boudiaf, in order to discuss business opportunities in the building sector in Algeria and specifically in Oran.

On this occasion, the Wali of Oran presented the building programme that has been granted to his city for 102,000 housings under construction, 20,000 additional accommodations and the restoration of historical monuments of the city.

16th of October 2012/Investment opportunities in Algeria

Opportunity-Algeria-for-website-cropped-302x367The Middle East Association hosted, at its head office, a meeting on investment opportunities in Algeria and more specifically in the province of Oran. 80 British businessmen attended the meeting. On this occasion, Lord Jonathan Marland, the British Minister for Energy and Climate Change, and H.E. Amar Abba, Ambassador of Algeria, highlighted the very positive climate characterising the Algerian British relations.

The Wali of Oran delivered a detailed presentation on the investment opportunities in his province in sectors like building, hospitals, universities, tourism and restoration of monuments as well as his ambition to make his city a Mediterranean metropolis.
