The importance of Emir Abdelkader El-Djazaïri’s approach for the current world, “which is marked by conflicts and tensions between religions” was affirmed at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies by  M. Idriss Jazairy, Executive Director of the Geneva Centre for the Advancement of Human Rights and Global Dialogue.

The lecture, attended by Academics, teachers, researchers and students as well as the Algerian ambassador to the U.K Amar Abba, highlighted the Emir’s values “of respect, tolerance and humanism, advocated in times of war and peace.”

 


People’s National Assembly elections

The Embassy of Algeria in London is pleased to inform the Algerian nationals in the United Kingdom and Ireland that the elections for the People’s National Assembly will take place from 29th April to 4th May 2017.

To this effect, the Algerian consulate is updating the electoral list, from 8th to 22nd February 2017.

The Algerian nationals who are not registered are invited to do so at the consulate, 06 Hyde Park Gate, London SW7 5EW

Procedure to open a representative office in Algeria

Should a foreign company decide to set up a branch office in Algeria; the following documents should be submitted to the Ministry of Trade:

1- An application addressed to the General Directorate of Regulation and Organization of Activities,

2- An application form provided by the Ministry of trade,

3- A banking certificate justifying that a bank account is open in convertible Algerian Dinars in a primary bank,

4- Certificate of a deposit of 20.000 USD in a primary bank,

5- The receipt of the registration fee of 100.000DA made to the various contributions collector, in accordance with the provisions of the article 16 of the law N°01/21 dated on 22/12/2001 on the finance law of the year 2002,

6- A copy of the statute of the main company,

7- A certificate of nomination of the liaising branch director and a copy of their passport and their CV,

8- Any supporting documents certifying the existence of the liaising branch premises.

Launching of the national loan for the financing of the economy

emprunt-600x338The Embassy of Algeria in London has the honour to inform the Algerian citizens, residents in the UK and Ireland, that the Ministry of Finance has issued a national loan to finance the economy. The subscription to these bonds is open to the public since April 17, 2016 and will not exceed six (06) months.

These bonds are valued at 50,000 dinars each with attached coupon payable every year.  The coupon rate is fixed according to the repayment period: 5% for 3 years bonds and 5.75% for 5 years bonds.

The coupon rate applicable in case of early repayment, is prorated accrued days after the last coupon payment.

These bonds can either be registered or bearer bonds at the investor’s option, and are freely negotiable instruments with a stated maturity date and coupon interest rate (bought and / or sold to individuals or legal entities).

The acquisition of those bonds can only be done through some institutions based in Algeria.

22nd May 2016: Algeria-UK Trade & Investment Forum in Algiers.

The second “Algeria-UK Trade & Investment Forum” will take place on 22nd May 2016 in Algiers.

Organised by the company “Developing Markets Associates” (DMA), in partnership with UKTI and the FCO, this Forum is the highest-profile event on Algerian -British business relations, to date, and will focus on economic relations with the United Kingdom, with the aims to build on the success of the first UK-Algeria Trade & Investment Forum, held in December 2014 in London and attended by over 400 high-level representatives from both countries. 

The Forum will discuss opportunities for deepening and broadening the economic partnership between the UK and Algeria in priority sectors, including Financial Services, Energy, Hydrocarbons, ICT, Healthcare, Education and Manufacturing.
