                              IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

                                      17 APRIL 2020

As part of the efforts of the Algerian Government to repatriate all our fellow non-resident citizens stranded in the United Kingdom and Ireland following the cancellation of their flights, the Embassy of Algeria in the United Kingdom would like to inform of the setting up, until Thursday the 23rd of April 2020, of the following registration platform:

                                             https://services.interieur.gov.dz.

The registration  is mandatory even for those already registered at the Embassy or Consulate General.

     في اطار الجهود التي تبذلها الحكومة الجزائرية لإعادة جميع  المواطنين غير المقيمين العالقين في المملكة المتحدة وأيرلندا إلى الوطن بعد إلغاء رحلاتهم ، تعلن سفارة الجزائر في المملكة المتحدة عن  فتح ،الى غاية يوم الخميس 23 افريل  2020 ، المنصة التالية للتسجيل:

كما تعلن كذالك ان التسجيل إلزامي حتى بالنسبة للذين تم تسجيلهم في السفارة أو القنصلية العامة.

                                                                                                                         

                             National solidarity against coronavirus “COV19”

The Embassy would like to inform the members of the Algerian community residing in the United Kingdom and Ireland who wish to make a financial contribution to the movement of solidarity against the propagation of the coronavirus "covid-19" in Algeria, that the following accounts, in different foreign currencies, have been opened with the Banque Extérieure d’Algérie (BEA) :

In these difficult times due to the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Embassy calls for a scrupulous respect of all the measures taken by the British and Irish authorities to reduce the risk of infection or spreading the infection.

 In this regard, the Embassy informs that the services provided by the Consulate General have been greatly reduced to deal only with urgent matters. To this end, please consult the Consulate General website: https://www.algerian-consulate.org.uk.

 A permanent crisis team is set up at the Consulate General to address urgent matters. In case of emergency, please contact the Consulate General at (020) 8752 1177 or the Embassy at (020) 7299 7077.



13th of February 2020: The new Ambassador of Algeria presents his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II

H.E Abderrahmane Benguerrah, the new Ambassador of Algeria to the Court of St James's, presented his letters of credence  to  Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday.

The ceremony took place at Buckingham Palace, in the presence of members of the Embassy.

Queen Elizabeth II then held an audience with Mr. Abderrahmane Benguerrah, before greeting the members of the Embassy.

Back to the Algerian Embassy, H.E Abderrahmane Benguerrah hosted the traditional reception for the members of the diplomatic corps and officials representing the British authorities.

 

21st of January 2020: High-level meeting on business opportunities in Algeria

Ambassador UKA summit1As a side event to the “UK / Africa Investment Summit” held on January 20 in London, the Embassy of Algeria organized in collaboration with the Algerian-British Business Council and “ Developing Markets Associates ”, a high-level meeting on business opportunities in Algeria as well as a technology forum, in which the Minister of Industry and Mines, Mr. Ferhat Air Ali Brahem, and the delegation that accompanied him took part .

The Prime Minister Boris Johnson's representative for the partnership with Algeria, Lord Richard Risby, the British Ambassador to Algiers, Barry Lowen, CEOs of national public and private companies and British economic groups as well as presidents of organizations employers attended this event which presented the Algerian economy with its strengths and opportunities.
